2010 TRAINING
6/11/10 - Members Shane Wood, Jacob Bissonnette, Scott Jackson, Bobby Pace, David Kennedy, Brent Bruns, Andy Thomas, Robbie Creal and David Maddox all recently completed Aerial Operations through Daytona State College, taught at the Flagler County Emergency Operations Center. This course contains classroom lectures and practical exercises in the principles and uses of aerial and pumper apparatus, including the recognition of hazards which may be presented during aerial operations. The course also teaches principles, uses and tactical placement of platform aerial apparatus. The class was 40 hours long and included one 12 hour day of outdoor, hands-on scenarios. Congratulations to all members for completing the rigorous program.
*More photos coming soon!* 5/14/10 - Firefighter/EMT Shane Wood graduated from Keiser University tonight with High Honors obatining his Associate in Sciene Degree in Fire Science. He received a scholorship to attend the school from February 2008 - September 2009. Chief Roberts, his wife and Shane's family attended the ceremony in Sarasota. 4/1/10 - Members Marshall Shupe and Steve Wood recently completed Aerial Operations at the Florida State Fire College in Ocala, FL. This course contains classroom lectures and practical exercises in the principles and uses of aerial and pumper apparatus, including the recognition of hazards which may be presented during aerial operations. The course also teaches principles, uses and tactical placement of platform aerial apparatus. One portion of the class requires students to climb a 110' aerial ladder truck at an 80 degree angle! Congratulations to both members for completing the rigorous 4 day program. Both members are driver/operators for Tower 11. ![]() ![]() |
